“The quickest way to acquire self-confidence is to do exactly what you are afraid to do.” -Unknown
Hey beauties! I hope you’re having a great week! Today I want to chat about self confidence and body positivity. Every week I come in contact with different women from all walks of life. One thing that I’ve learned is that confidence is something that we either have, or that we desperately want to have. However, even the most confident person can feel insecure at times. Let’s be honest with ourselves, we all have those moments. I think we all have things that we tend to stay away from because it makes us feel insecure. And it’s not only plus size women who have those insecure moments. I’ve seen many women who are under a size 10 who still have insecurities when it comes to their body image.
I recently learned about Dia & Co.’s Try-Day Friday initiative! The goal of this campaign is to challenge yourself to step outside the box and try new styles! No more playing it safe! If you’ve never heard of Dia & Co., they are an online personal styling service for women size 14 and up. As a part of Try-Day Friday, I’ve decided to face my fashion fear of leggings.
Leggings have always been something that I avoid at all costs. I cringed at the thought of this thin fabric exposing my imperfections. I actually purchased a pair for the first time in my life last winter. But I only had the nerve to wear them around the house. Eventually they ended up in the Goodwill pile. Dia & Co.’s Try-Day Friday campaign really encouraged me to be bold and face my fashion fear of leggings!
I’ll even give you a close up.
One thing that I want you to remember today and everyday is that EVERY body is beautiful! Sometimes what we perceive as a flaw, is perfection to another. So going forward, let’s wear our flaws like a badge of honor! Today I face my fashion fears head on, and I challenge you to do the same! What styles have you been wanting to try, but been too afraid to? Let me know in the comment section below!
