Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting some of my local Style Collective sisters! I had an amazing time connecting with these very intelligent and stylish women. We enjoyed great food and a lot of laughs. We each have been blogging for different lengths of time, from a few months to a few years, so it was great learning from one another as well. As a newbie, I definitely left super motivated! I really hope to meet with these ladies again real soon!
When I was deciding on what to wear to this event, I knew casual would be the way to go. It was a little chilly outside and normally I would have just worn a sweater. But I didn’t know how the temperature in the restaurant would be, so I decided that I needed layers! I started with this short sleeved leopard top that I purchased from a past season at Torrid. Animal print never goes out of style! Naturally, I went with some distressed skinny jeans.
To layer this look I went with my old faithful black blazer! There’s a reason why the black blazer is a wardrobe staple piece. If you missed it, check out that post here.
I knew there was a chance that I’d have to walk a bit, since we were meeting downtown Raleigh. These boots look high, but they are unbelievably comfortable to walk in!
Just a little tip about choosing a bag: Have you ever been out to eat and there was nowhere to hang your bag? The seats just weren’t made for hanging bags and you ended up holding a huge purse in your lap while eating? Ugh! When you’re not sure if the seats are made for hanging a bag, use a clutch. It will hold your essentials, and it will easily lay flat in your lap. If it’s a standing event, you can easily tuck it under your arm. Problem solved! I actually took a tote bag to this event. I’d eaten at another location before and I figured the seats would be the same.
